School Board Candidacy Information
Are you considering becoming a school board member for Dallas Elementary School District #327?
You have come to the right place! The guidelines and process of becoming a School Board Member are laid out through the resources below:

School board members, before taking their seats on the board, are required to take an official oath
April 2027 Election Includes 6 Open Seats on the Board of Education
To become a school board candidate, one must

File a Statement of Economic Interests with the county clerk and obtain a receipt; these forms are available from the county clerk.

Obtain and complete a nominating petition signed by at least 50 registered voters or 10% of the voters, whichever is less; and a Statement of Candidacy. Nominating petition forms and Statements of Candidacy are available from the county clerk or the county board of election commissioners.
These completed documents and the county clerk’s receipt for the Statement of Economic Interests must be filed with the county clerk no earlier than 113 days before the election and no later than 106 days before the election during normal office hours.
The April election will be held on April 6, 2027. Nominating petitions, Statement of Candidacy, and Statement of Economic Interests must therefore be filed on or before Monday, December 14, 2026.
