Chages to End of Day Procedures
Dear Dallas City Elementary Parents,
The purpose of this letter is to inform you of current and potential changes to our end-of-day procedures.
Change beginning Monday, October 20th: Parents must phone the school by noon to notify us of an end-of-day change in plans for children. Calls requesting end-of-day changes later than noon will not be accepted.
Potential change beginning Monday, January 5th: Parents will identify one procedure for dismissal. Changes to drop-off locations or buses for bus riders will not be allowed.
For example, one parent might decide they will always pick their child up at the end of the day. Another parent might decide their child will always ride the bus home after school. Or, a child with parents living in separate homes might decide the child will go by bus to Mom’s house on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and Dad’s house on Tuesday and Thursday.
Parents must phone the school by noon to notify us of end-of-day plans. The only change allowed for bus riders is for the parent to decide to pick up their child from school.
The potential change to the end-of-day policies noted above will be discussed and voted on during the November school board meeting. If you would like to express concerns or provide ideas regarding the potential changes, please attend the November meeting scheduled for Wednesday, November 19th, at 6:30.
