MAP Results and Midterm Reports
Students have recently participated in the MAP assessment for winter. Teachers will send home results of the MAP assessessment on Thursday, February 12. You will be able to see your child's growth from fall to winter. Midterm reports for students in grades 4-8 who have D's or F's will be mailed home.
Spelling Bee Winners
Congratulations to Hayden Roberts (5th grade) and Brandon Six (8th grade). They will represent our school at the Hancock County Spelling Bee on February 18 at 7:00 PM at the Hancock County Spelling Bee. One winner from that contest will move on to the regional contest in Peoria.
These students were classroom champions and participated in the school wide contest at Dallas City Elementary on Friday, January 30.
Dallas City Elementary Looking for Volunteers
We are looking for persons who are willing to share areas of expertise with students. If you have a hobby, collection, interest or a skill that you are willing to share with students, please contact Principal Bilbrey at 217.852.3201 for more information.
AMP! Academic Mentoring Program
Dallas City Elementary School will offer an after dcchool tutoring program for some students in grades K-4. The program will resume on January 6. After winter assessments in January data will be analyzed and new students may be invited to join the program. The program will assist students in areas of specific academic need. The program is held Mondays-Thursdays from 3:05-4:20.
Gold Circle of Quality Achieved By Pre-K Program
Congratulations to our Pre-K program! The program has achieved the Gold Circle of Quality rating from ExceleRate Illinois. This rating system has high standards and our program has met the highest standards. We are proud to offer this exceptional Pre-K program to our community.
This is a reminder that if you have students enrolling in Pre-K, Kindergarten, 2nd grade or 6th grade in the fall they will need the following health exams:
New Pre-K Students
Physical exam and required immunizations including Pneumococcal, lead screen, diabetes screening by October 15th.
Certified copy of birth certificate by October 15th .
Physical exam and required immunizations including proof of 2 doses Varicella vaccine , proof of 2 doses of MMR vaccine, lead screening, diabetes screening by October 15th
Certified copy of birth certificate (if not on file) by October 15th
Vision exam by an optometrist or ophthalmologist by October 15th
2nd Grade Students
Proof of 2 doses Varicella vaccine
6th Grade Students
Physical exam and required immunizations including one dose of Tdap vaccine, proof of 3 doses Hep B, proof of 2 doses of Varicella vaccine, proof of 2 doses of MMR vaccine and diabetes screening by October 15th
Beginning this school year (Fall of 2014) ALL students entering, advancing, or transferring into grades K - 12TH grades will be required to show proof of receipt of two doses of MMR vaccine and two doses of Varicella vaccine.
Failure to comply with the requirements of the health/immunization exam by October 15th will result in the student’s exclusion from school until the required health forms are presented to the school.
