Back-to-School Night

Thank you to all of the families who were able to attend Back to School Curriculum Night. If you were unable to attend but would like to meet your child's teacher, please call for a conference.

You’re invited to our Book Fair!

September 2, 3, 4, 5 & 8, from 7:30 am – 4:00 pm at Dallas City Elementary. All students, their families, and community residents are welcome to visit the Book Fair in the school library and buy new books, posters, school supplies and other fun items. Book fair proceeds will be used to buy new library books.

You can also shop the book fair from your own home! Order from our online book fair from August 28-September 17, and your items will be shipped free to the school. You can access the site at: http://bookfairs.scholastic.com/homepage/dallaselementarysch327 or go to www.scholastic.com/fair .

Gold Circle of Quality Achieved By Pre-K Program

Congratulations to our Pre-K program! The program has achieved the Gold Circle of Quality rating from ExceleRate Illinois. This rating system has high standards and our progarm has met the highest standards. We are proud to offer this exceptional Pre-K program to our community.

Students to Use Gmail Accounts

Students in grades 3-8 will be assigned a school Gmail account. This will allow students to access documents between school and home (or anywhere Internet is available). A letter with details will be sent home on August 25.

Mrs. Bilbrey Accepts the ALS Challenge

We collected $74 for ALS and Mrs. Bilbrey will also make a contribution. Ms. Gittings, Evan and Juliana won the honor of pouring ice water over Mrs. Bilbrey. View the video on our Dallas City Elementary Facebook page.

Positions Open
5/6 Girls' Basketball head and assistant coach positions are open for the 2014-2015 school year. If interested please contact Mrs. Bilbrey or Mrs. Wiegers-Samson at 217-852-3201. The season will begin the first week of September

This is a reminder that if you have students enrolling in Pre-K, Kindergarten, 2nd grade or 6th grade in the fall they will need the following health exams:

New Pre-K Students
Physical exam and required immunizations including Pneumococcal, lead screen, diabetes screening by October 15th.
Certified copy of birth certificate by October 15th .
Kindergarten Students
Physical exam and required immunizations including proof of 2 doses Varicella vaccine , proof of 2 doses of MMR vaccine, lead screening, diabetes screening by October 15th
Certified copy of birth certificate (if not on file) by October 15th
Vision exam by an optometrist or ophthalmologist by October 15th
Dental exam
2nd Grade Students
Dental exam
Proof of 2 doses Varicella vaccine
6th Grade Students
Physical exam and required immunizations including one dose of Tdap vaccine, proof of 3 doses Hep B, proof of 2 doses of Varicella vaccine, proof of 2 doses of MMR vaccine and diabetes screening by October 15th
Dental exam
Beginning this school year (Fall of 2014) ALL students entering, advancing, or transferring into grades K - 12TH grades will be required to show proof of receipt of two doses of MMR vaccine and two doses of Varicella vaccine.
Failure to comply with the requirements of the health/immunization exam by October 15th will result in the student’s exclusion from school until the required health forms are presented to the school.
