Mary Norvell

Kindergarten

Hi, I'm Mary Norvell and I teach kindergarten. This is my 14th year at Dallas City Elementary. Teaching primary is so much fun! I love how excited the kids are when they begin really reading.

When I 'm not at school, I enjoy spending time with my family. I live with my husband, Doug and our dog, Blanco ( a great pyrenees /lab mix). I have two grown children, Molly and Nate and my husband has two grown children, Scott and Stuart. We have three teenage grandsons, Christopher, Isaiah,and Benny. Olivia is, a preteen, Aiden and Jazzy are 4, and the twins, Miles and Madeline are almost one. It can get pretty wild at times.

I have lots of hobbies. I like to read, scrapbook, journal, and make altered books, clothes and jewelry. I also like to play Scrabble, Trivial Pursuit, Bejeweled , and Free Cell . My only wish is that I had more time.

Daily Homework

Read every day! Read a book together and talk about it. Also practice letter sounds and High Frequency Words. Your child may have a small book with the skill we are working on in his or her Bee Binder.
