I am very excited to be your child's teacher this year. I grew up in Lomax and graduated from Dallas City. I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education from Iowa Wesleyan College. I am currently working on my Master's Degree in Educational Leadership. I taught 3rd grade in Olathe, Kansas for three years. Since I have been at Dallas City I have taught K-1 for 4 years, 2-3 for 1 year and 2nd grade for the last 8 years.

I have been married to my husband Dean for 19 years. We have four children: Zoey-16, Cale-14, Marah-10, and Emma 7. In my spare time I love to read, shop, and spend time with family and friends.

This year I will be using the 7 Habits in my classroom to teach leadership. Your child will learn the 7 Habits of Happy Kids and use them constantly in their everyday life. Your child will learn that "Leadership is doing what's right......even when no one is watching!!" They will have several opportunities to serve in leadership roles throughout the school year.
