Hello Dallas City Elementary Students and Parents,

I am Ms. Brys. I relocated to Dallas City last year from Lawrenceville, IL. My home is actually in Donovan, IL which is on the Indiana side of the state near Kankakee or Watseka,IL. Donovan is a small hamlet of 300 people so when people say they are from a small town, I always ask, "How Small?" I live in Dallas City with my son, Jacob, who is a freshman in college this year. In 2009, Jacob was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome. We are still learning about this "branch" of autism.

I graduated in 1987 from Illinois State University with a Bachlor of Sciences degree in Middle school education (social science, history and science) and went back to Governor's State University in 2004 to complete my endorsement in special education. I have been teaching in some capacity for 23 yrs, this year beginning my 24th year.

I must tell you that I ADORE teaching. I am passionate about helping students reach their full potential. I am available daily from 7:30 am (before school begins) and until 5:00 pm after school. Please encourage your student to stop by my classroom anytime they need help. If I am unable to help right then, I will make an appointment for us to meet later.
